What is urogynecology?
The field of Urogynecology is a recognized subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Urogynecologists are specialized gynaecological surgeons who deal with urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders in women (cystocele, rectocele, uterine prolapse). Although these are prevalent problems, women often do not seek medical advice out of ignorance, fear of treatment or shame.
